Weeks of 11 to 25 September still available!
It is rare to find such a wonderful pool and garden with accommodation for just two to three people - couples so often find themselves having to pay for much bigger houses if they want to have use of a decent-sized swimming pool and large garden. This is an ideal place for a honeymoon. The gite has a recently refurbished bedroom, and children over 12 are welcome to a fold out bed in the very spacious living room.
This property is just outside a hill-top hamlet, which has long views over the Aude valley. On a clear day you can see the Pyrennees mountains in the far distance from the garden.
The large garden and luxurious swimming pool are a delight. A stand of mature pine trees leads to the well-kept lawn, interspersed with palms and flower beds. The pool (12mx6mx1-1.6m deep) is shared with the owners, who are extremely discreet and tend not use the pool until after 6pm, or at the week-end.
The first floor gite, which has its own completely independent and private entrance and car parking, is very spacious and comfortable.
Clients' comments:
I'd just like to say we had a great time in the holiday villa, so thanks for a great job there and to our host families/people who were very hospitable and pleasant! Sophie and Doug Chadd, June 2010
When we came up with the idea of going s/c, organising the flights & car etc & I just wished wed found yourselves a bit sooner. The property we stayed in was out of this world & the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. I’d been to Paris a few times, but the quietness of the Languedoc region was just...I can’t describe it...breathtaking – you really felt that you were in France, as opposed to being in MacDonald’s on the Champs Elysees. Very few people could speak English, which suited us & we just came away feeling that we'd discovered France. I still dream of the beach at Narbonne. Another thing we like was how easy it was to book through yourselves. The thought of booking a French villa was a bit daunting, but it was just so easy through yourselves with internet & email. My only trouble was, wheres the catch? Theres got to be one!

'Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay and how welcoming and helpful Reme and Simone were. The location was excellent and a great base for touring.' Gwyn, July 2009
I just thought I would write to say that we had a fabulous time at La Maniere and how super Remy and Simone were. They were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome - even cooking us a paella one evening! It really is a marvellous site and we would be interested in booking it again for next year ....Jean Cameron, August 2008
Just a quick email to say what a fantastic time were having in the villa. The owners are so friendly, the property & pool are out of this world and we've just fallen in love with the area! Only thing we could complain about is we've only booked 1 week! Many thanks Mr & Mrs Docherty, June 2008
We have now returned from our holiday in france. Lovely house at a lovely spot and the weather was kind to us. We toured quite a lot in the area, but still want to visit some more sites in the future. The owners were charming and very helpful. Thank you for arranging everything for us for this holiday.

Kirk and I had a wonderful time at our villa. The villa itself was spendid. Our hosts had put out vases of fresh flowers. What a great touch. We had a problem when we arrived at the villa and our hosts Simone and Remi were so kind and helpful. We cannot thank them enough. We have already recommended them and southfrancevillas to a number of people. Catheren and Kirk Sept 2006
Just a short note to thank you for the opportunity of spending a week at the home of Monsieur et Madame Guippert at La Maniere. It was a fantastic week. Weather was fabulous. The house was great. Pool and gardens a joy. We had an opportunity to meet the owners and their daughter on our last day and they were extremely pleasant. First class. I would have no hesitation in recommending La Maniere as a venue to get away from it all Stewart Docherty May 2007
Just to let you know what a wonderful week we had a La Maniere. Beautiful place - peace and quiet. Just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Please pass on our thanks to Remy, Simone and Marie-Pierre. Helen & Chris Johnson July 2007

All on 1st floor:
The spacious dining area and kitchen adjoin a most unusual sitting area, which could be described as a 'neo-classical salon'. It has a low sloping ceiling, in-built seating and a three-foot Bernini statue (not an original we hasten to add!). Four steps lead up to the double bedroom (which does have quite a low ceiling) and shower room with large wash-hand basin and wc.
Shady private terrace near entrance and there is a newly built BBQ for guests exclusive use.
The Summer Kitchen is for the Owner's private use. |

The property is just outside a small hamlet, 3 km from Puisserguier, a typical Languedocian wine-village, with an attractive square and main street shaded by plane trees, with village shops, bank, bars, restaurant and supermarket.
