An imaginative barn-conversion by the architect owner has resulted in a very comfortable home with a wonderful feeling of space.
The property is extremely well situated; right in the countryside as part of an old wine estate (or domaine), yet it is only 3km to the centre of the colourful market town of Beziers, which is famous for its Spanish style Feria in August, and it is only 7km from the Mediterranean beaches.

Downstairs:
Large entry hall, with piano. Tiled stairs to first floor. The hallway leads to a high-ceilinged spacious living room (50m2). The room is dominated by a very striking fireplace with Romanesque arch and supporting columns. It has plenty of comfortable furnishings and reading lamps.
French windows lead to terrace.
A second staircase up to first floor; wooden and open-sided (so unsuitable for very young children).
WC, beyond the wooden stairs.
The kitchen is also large (50m2) and airy, with huge beams and rough wood and plaster ceiling. It has a fabulous long wooden work-surface laid on top of the carved granite mangers from the days when the building was a stable. On the far side of the room, screened off by an old wooden stable partition are the electrical appliances and a Lovely Napoleon III gilt mirror!
There is a large dining table with leather chairs seats 8.
First floor:
Landing at top of wooden stairs leads to:
(1) large bedroom (30m2) with 140cm double bed, with 1930's desk. wash-basin.
(2) Bedroom with twin beds (17m2).
(3) Bedroom with 140cm doublebed (18m2) is en suite with very large attractive bathroom with exposed beams (two wash-basins, bath, dressing table. This bathroom also has a door out onto the landing.
(4) Bedroom with twin beds (18m2), opposite which is a shower room with washbasin.

Both the sitting room and kitchen have french windows to the large dining terrace with seating for 10 (100m2). This is partially shaded by a huge pergola.
Beyond is the fenced 6.5x5.5m swimming pool (max depth 1.8m), set in about 300m2 of garden; lawn bordered by a few palm, fruit trees and Oleanders.
There is plenty of space for car-parking on the far side of the oleanders, where there is the domaine's gravelly courtyard (shared with the owners).

The 19th century domaine is in the wine-growing plane just south of Beziers.
Domaine Beausejour is exceptionally close to the beaches, just 7km from Serignan, and is only 3 kilometres from the centre of Beziers, which is a busy colourful typically Mediterranean market town full of good restaurants. Watch out for the glorious flower market on Friday mornings.
The lively Feria in August lasts five days; bull-fighting, paellas, flamenco dancing, and partying in the streets until the early hours of the morning.
The Canal du Midi runs right past this side of Beziers; ideal for cycling along the towpath, or you can hire a canal boat for the day and stop off to dine at one of the water-side restaurants.

Beziers - this is a new route from summer 2008 - the airport is only approxmately 20 kms from Cap d'Agde. Ryanair from Bristol and London Luton.

Montpellier (international flights worldwide). Flights to Gatwick and Luton via Easyjet, and to Stansted and Bristol on Ryanair.
