The Provence vacation villa's private pool and garden area

The holiday villa is approached via an attractive avenue of trees and is typically Provençal in style. Surrounded by a lovely Mediterranean garden with extensive lawns and established trees, including three 200 year old Olive trees, and planting that includes oleander, juniper and pine amongst others and a field of lavender. (8000M2 in total). Some pretty gravel areas and plenty of shade under the trees, should you wish a break from the South of France sunshine!

The villa's large private pool is 9m by 5m and is surrounded by a large terrace with plenty of outdoor furniture, including sun loungers and large parasols for shade. There is also a large gazebo for communal outside dining.

There are 'secret' parts of garden too and thoughtfully placed tables and chairs for quiet contemplation or a romantic meal outside.

BBQ pit.

Boules available for a relaxing game of Petanque. There are outside lights for nocturnal matches.

Nearby Attractions & Activities

Provence and its surrounding area is just stunning, lavender fields, poppies, sunflowers, and the beaches are not too far away either. Provence is the perfect area for a family holiday in the South of France.

Aix-en-Provence, apprx 7km. Famous for its summer festivals, fountains and cultural events, it is the city of Cezanne's canvases and was the Capital of Gaul in the Roman times. Amazing shops, restaurants and museums. (Cours Mirabeau is one of Europe's finest streets). Have an aperitif and do some relaxing people-watching at Les Deux Garcons (known locally as Les Deux Gas), one of France's most famous and historic bars.

There is fantastic walking in the Saint Baume range and bike hire is available in many local villages and it goes without saying that the local villages are classically pretty and home to charming shops, squares and restaurants.

The Luberon - located just north of Aix-en-Provence it is above all the Luberon villages that we recommend - for it is the villages (and the surrounding scenery) that are the highlight of this beautiful region of the French countryside. The region has several villages listed as 'most beautiful villages of France'.

Marseille apprx 29km. Often underestimated, the second largest and oldest city in France and founded by the Greeks, it has an interesting and very lively 'old port' area with some fabulous shops and art galleries/museums - and of course seafood restaurants.. The city has undergone an impressive transformation in the last 30 years, particularly near the 'vieux port' and it is the European Capital of Culture.

Cassis appx 54km - pretty fishing port with a beach and boat trips to the Calanques (see below)

Calanques de Cassis, Sormiou, Morgiou, Sugiton Calanques apprx 50 km. Breathtaking lime escarpments, like embryonic fjords, surrounded by towering cliffs. Great natural beauty, good for walkers.

La Ciotat-Plage apprx 55km. Boasts splendid sandy beaches with exceptionally high levels of sunshine.

Bandol apprx 75 km. When it comes to climate Bandol is supreme. Sheltered from the mistral by its wooded hills it enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine every year. Its vines produce some of the best wine on the Mediterranean coast.

Isle of Bendoris - a pleasant 10 minute boat trip from Bandol. An island with an attractive Provencal harbour, also the Iles des Embiez known as the 'powerboat playground'.

The Chateau d'If, in the Bay of Marseille apprx 30km. Famous for being the setting for Alexander Dumas' famous adventure story The Count of Monte Cristo. Regular boat trips to the Chateau from the mainland.

St Cyr sur Mer apprx 64km. There is a huge variety of beaches to chose from in the vicinity of St Cyr Sur Mer. The nearest is at Les Lecques (3 kms), a quiet seaside town in a sweeping bay, which has tennis courts, horse-riding, aqualand adventure park and an 18 hole golf course.

Client Comments

South France Villas were very prompt in dealing with any queries and listened to what I was looking for in a villa. Our villa was very well equipped and well situated for exploring Aix en provence , cassis , Marseilles and lots of other towns and villages.South France Villas client August 2019
This property is beautiful and fantastically located for Aix and local amenities. In saying that, we barely left the pool as we were enjoying the weather and surroundings so much! For a good meal and a great view the local restaurant is very good. We had a great week in Provence - would definitely come back...Ian, August 2016 From the House Book
Shielded from the road by a long driveway this lovely, comfortable home is close to Aix and well located for visiting all Provence has to offer. Just a 3 minute drive to Carrefour supermarket. We dined alfresco most evenings under the stars enjoying the BBQ, the pool area directly outside the main sitting room is well maintained and the pool which is quite deep was always cool and refreshing. For a relaxing holiday we would thoroughly recommend this property. Lindy, July 2016, From the House Book.
The property is as tremendous as the photos portray. Plenty of space for three couples to spread out. The Caretakers provided great recommendations that made visiting Provence, eating in and dining out effortless. Highly recommended.Roger H, July 2016, From the House Book.
We all had an absolutely fantastic time. " Best holiday to date" was the quote. In terms of feedback the property exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect and facilities great, very spacious and peaceful and immaculate. It was so convenient to make short trips to the wonderful villages and towns in Provence and Cote d'Azur. The outdoors was perfect for relaxing by the pool and having lunch and dinner. Paul the caretaker was very friendly. We have already recommended it to our friends. Kimmo, June 2016, From the House Book
This home is the perfect location to see Provence. It is a mere 5 to 8 minute drive to Aix where there are great markets, museums, restaurants and shopping. Marseille airport and the TGV are close by and easily accessible. If one has a car, there is no limit to easy day- trips, ours included Marseille, Cassis, Avignon, Arles, Gordes ,St Remy, Luberon hills and some in our party even managed Nice. The house is well designed with a large terrace for pool and patio meals. A well treed property with lovely landscaping provides great privacy from surrounding neighbors but allows for various outdoor activities. The large house is beautiful with sufficient room to easily accommodate group and/or solitary pleasures. The five bedrooms and three baths are separated into three sections, providing great privacy and quiet. The kitchen is a cook's dream with good appliances and ample room for comfortable meal prep while still being able to allow for others to congregate. There is a great fruit and vegetable shop within walking distance where one can also buy wine, cheese and sweets if a larger shop at Carrefour is not desirable. The property manager Paul and his lovely wife are available when needed for advice, directions or help but are unobtrusive. The only slight negative would be the rush hour traffic on the small road in front of the property-otherwise, everything was perfect. We had the most memorable two weeks with family and friends and this house certainly helped to make it so. A & B Hilburt, Canada, 2014, From the House Book
