Situated in a village in Cathar Region of the South of France, this is a typical French, whitewashed house constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. Renovated by owners with love and originality paying attention to modern demands and needs such as 'en suite' bathrooms.
The owners are wine-makers and run an organic 12 hectare wine domaine from a cave literally at the bottom of the lane - so no need to travel far for a wine tasting!
On 2 levels, the house is solar heated, including the pool and is furnished with mid-19th century (Louis Philippe), Art Nouveau and Art Deco furniture giving it a lovely old world feel.
This property can also be rented along with AU010A Maison Guilhem sleeping a total of 26 or the first floor level can be rented on its own (excluding peak season) sleeping up to 8 people (please contact us for prices). Ideal for a family holiday and not far from beaches or from Spanish border.

Entrance from a small lane into a hallway off which there are 2 twin bedrooms with en suites (all twin beds can be put together to make doubles) exquisitely decorated - wooden floors, provencal bed-covers. 2 ensuite bathrooms comprising a double sink, bath, and separate wc. One bathroom has 3 steps up, leading to a small outside walled terrace.
Wooden stairs with a rope handrail, leading from the ground floor, open out on to an open plan kitchen/dining area with a large table seating 12.
Steps up from the kitchen lead to a laundry.
Off the kitchen, is a lounge/sitting room with a beamed ceiling, stylish art deco and 1930's sofas and armchairs, a warm wooden floor, a large fireplace and TV. Glass doors lead directly to a terrace with BBQ and to the swimmingpPool.
Double bedroom with 2 single beds (that can be put together) with an ensuite bathroom with double sink, bath and separate wc.
Large family room with twin beds and 2 sets of bunk beds and ensuite bathroom with double sink, bath and separate wc. The colours are warm mustards and the decor is again original and 'old-world' wtih original ceiling beams.

Large Wine makers house to rent in the South of France for 12 people
The property is unusual in that both the ground level and first floor can be accessed from the lane that passes the house, with the first floor entrance leading to a terrace with BBQ and small swimming pool (5.2m x 4.2m x 1.7m) that is solar heated, fenced and gated with an outside shower.
There is also a covered terrace with a large outside table seating 12, looking down at the fenced pool and at the vineyards beyond the terrace.
Parking is in the lane outside.
