A fantastic property in a small quiet Berber village and only 10-15 minutes' walk to the beach - the perfect destination for an amazing family holiday with lots to offer surfers, golfers and beach lovers.
The Riad is quintessentially Moroccan in design with pink painted walls, a fabulous central courtyard with splendid pool and a rooftop terrace that affords views to the sea, coastline and on to the horizon. A beautifully polished property that feels more like a boutique hotel, offering a veritable oasis of tranquility.
With 6 enormous Suite style bedrooms - 5 double and 1 family room for 4 - all with en suite bathrooms, the Riad easily accommodates 14 people.
The discreet staff (Guardian and Housekeeper) will do all they can to ensure you have a relaxing holiday - from preparing breakfast to day to day maintenance of the entire house.

Luxury Moroccan Riad combining Traditional and Modern - sleeps 14
From a small street you enter the this stunning 925m2 Riad, via the patio where there is a Papaya tree and flowering Hibiscus, the Riad is totally private and behind a 2m wall.
As you walk into the ground floor hallway, which is large and spacious, to the left there is a modern kitchen/dining room (45m2) and a cosy sitting room with Wi-Fi and Satellite TV. The kitchen is well equipped for a cooking holiday - quality kitchen equipment, lovely tableware, large electric oven and American fridge. The dining area has a table for 12 and sofa banquette. Both the sitting room and the kitchen open out on to the sunny patio.
At the end of the corridor, doors open on to the piece de resistance the inner courtyard with swimming pool - you feel like you have arrived at your own castle!
Throughout the Riad there is amazing traditional craftsmanship and quality organic materials used throughout, muted traditional ochres and plaster pinks and greys with fantastic ceiling work carving and beautiful lamps.
6 Bedrooms - all are very large Suites and have a living room with L shaped Moroccan sofa with comfortable mattress style cushioning and en suite bathroom - all bathrooms are done in the traditional Moroccan waterproof plasterwork called Tadalakt.

There are sun loungers or should you want shade from the Moroccan sun there is a covered pergola with L shaped sofa and table. A washing machine, fridge and sink are also on this level.
Please remember Morocco is predominately a French speaking country and take into account that local staff sometimes do not speak English. Often a guide book is handy to maximize your Moroccan experience. Always respect the rules of the country.

There are 2 staff employed at the villa - Guardian and Housekeeper.
The Guardian will be present at the villa day and night (he has independent accommodation on the side of the property).
The Housekeeper will be at the property daily from 0830-1700h to prepare breakfast and clean the house and rooms and upon request she can prepare a meal (ingredients at your own expense). At the Riad there is a list of meals that are offered. You can also do your own cooking if preferred. Should you wish the staff members to stay on from 1700-2200h there is an additional charge of Euro 50 per person.
The Guardian can assist with food shopping and he can take you to buy wine from a local supermarket.

Superb inner courtyard at this Moroccan Riad
The piece de resistance is the 200m2 courtyard - completely private and enclosed and not at all overlooked - like a world within a world. All around the large pool terrace there are arches with the Riad rising 2 storeys up and luxury sun loungers, together with 2 breakfast tables.
The pool has easy access with a series of shelves that take you into the shallow area, where you can sit and relax, down again to the mid section and then further into the deeper part for a full swim. There is also a pool cover.
Illuminated at night the courtyard and pool area has a fairylike ambience.
On the top floor of the Riad, the huge 210m four sided rooftop terrace has amazing views to the sea and beyond. There are luxury sun loungers for those wanting some rays and a covered abri with L shaped sofa and dining table for shade. The perfect place to relax and listen to the waves and the birdsong.
The sun shines around 340 days of the year and this area enjoys an exceptionally mild climate with trade winds throughout the year providing a welcome cooling breeze in the summer months.
From June till September maximum temperatures vary between 24°C and 27°C. Chances of rain are rather small. In winter temperatures average 22°C in the daytime.

Aourir - apprx 2.5km - also known as Banana village nicknamed by Jimi Hendrix due to the small sweet banana sellers along the roadside in the main streets. The Wednesday weekly market is a must.
Taghazout - apprx 6 km
A small fishing village is north of the villa and is a surfer paradise.
Agadir City Centre - apprx 15 km
Largely a modern tourist town on the Western coast of the Mediterranean, it is is not as authentic as some Moroccan towns as after 2 earthquakes it was rebuilt, only the Kashba (fortress) still overlooks the town. There is a busy fishing and commercial port, a Marina, 10km of sandy beach edged with tourist hotels and wide streets with shops, bars and restaurants. If you want nightlife there are European style discotheques in the hotels.
The port of Agadir - apprx 12km - is well worth seeing and has many restaurants along the harbour quayside where fresh fish abounds. It is one of the largest sardine ports, but many other varieties including lobster are available.
Or get up early and watch the fishermen unload their catch - huge tuna, large grouper and hammerhead sharks - a great spectacle.
The Marina at Agadir - apprx 13km - offers restaurants, cafes with sea views, bars, ice cream shops and some European boutiques if you want to shop!
Agadir Souk (Souk el Had) - apprx 18km - it has everything from spices to leather to vegetables to furniture and of course souvenirs! Open daily except Monday - a quintessential Moroccan market with 12 entrances! Don't forget to haggle - it is expected!!
Imouzzer apprx 54km of magnificent roads situated in the mountains,
1hr 10 minutes by car - a great day trip. It is situated in Paradise Valley on the honey road, stop by the river and take an orange juice and taste the honey or a fabulous mit tea at Auberge Le Panoramic. There is little to see in the village but the view from the terrace of the Hotel de Cascades over lunch is a bonus and afterwards take the path to see the Imouzzer Cascades.
Souss-Massa - apprx 60km
The centre of 2 rives has given rise to a a bird territory - over 250 species to see.
Taroudant - apprx 103km
A mini-Marrakech - with 8km of ramparts is not to be missed, plus the medina with a twice weekly market, gardens and souks - take a horsedrawn carriage ride to see the sights. The 5-star restaurant “La Gazelle d'Or” is also worth a visit as is the charming “Palais Salam” hotel.
Tiznit - apprx 108km
Many locals still wear traditional costume and the pink walls of the city give the impression you are in an oasis in the desert. You will travel the Almond road to get to Tiznit - the oil is an important culinary ingredient in Moroccan food. The town is famed for its silver and the jewellery on offer is striking.
Mirleft - apprx 153km (towards the South, coast)
A sleep town south of Agadir - no mass tourism just magnificent beaches and rock formations.
Essaouira - apprx 160km (towards the North, coast)
You follow the Argan tree road, the local tree that is drought resistant and can survive for up to 200 years - the oil is very versaitle - cooking and cosmetics. A romantic harbour, offering great sardins and a charming medina.
Tafraoute = apprx 178km (towards the South, inland)
Located 1000m up it is surrounded by pink granite mountains, enhanced in the winter by the Almond blossom.
Guelmim - apprx 216km (towards the South, inland)
Here you will see the "the blue men" - nomadic shepherd from the former Spanish Saraha, so called due to their indigo coloured clothing. Guelmim holds the biggest Camel market in Morocco every Saturday.
Last, but not least Marrakech - apprx 257km (via the new motorway, (towards the North) - the jewel of Morocco with Place Jamaa El Fna, the Koutbia Mosque and the amazing Medina.
Agadir Airport apprx 40 minute drive
Transfer to and from the airport for 4 people is included in the rental (party of more than 4 people is 30 Euro per taxi for 4 people per journey).

In Agadir - apprx 13km the Marche Municipal Central has everything from fresh meat to fruit and veg to herbs. Open Monday to Saturday 0900-1300h and 1700-2000h, Sunday 0900-1300h.
Banks - open non stop Monday to Friday 0900-1530 - try to pay in local currency - Dirham - Euro are accepted but often prices are inflated. Some Banks are located apprx 1km from the Riad.
