This spacious contemporary holiday villa in Provence with a private pool is surrounded by 2200m2 of Mediterranean garden with mature plants, shrubs and trees - a veritable oasis of calm. The pool (13m x 4m x 1.5m) with Roman steps, offers 2 terraces perfect for soaking up the sun. There is also a covered terrace which wraps around the house offering shade and breath taking views to the old village of Rochefort du Gard and its Chapel from XI century.


The house is on two floors built and decorated in a contemporary style throughout, with an American open plan kitchen.

Rochefort-du-Gard is situated on the border of the Languedoc-Roussillon region and Provence and has a mixture of both regional cultures. A real plus is that the villa is walking distance to the village where you will find a baker, a small shop and a cafe. There is also a local market on Sunday morning.

The villa is only 12km to Avignon, and close to Orange and Arles so is in the perfect spot to explore this part of the world and all its history.

This individually designed contemporary holiday villa is a spacious 240m2.

The large and light open plan living area has tall windows with amazing views. There are comfortable contemporay sofas, TV, DVD and a Hi-Fi system.

The dining area has a table seating 8 and the concept of inside/outside living comes into its own with French doors leading to the covered terrace where there is another dining table for those alfresco meals.

The American kitchen is open plan and fully equipped with cooker, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and necessary accoutrements.

Accommodation comprises 4 bedrooms (3 in the main house and 1 in the separate annexe):

Main House:

3 double bedrooms, each with beds of 140cm x 190cm and parquet flooring

2 shower rooms with wash hand basins

2 independent wc's

Annexe (a separate studio area) - comprising:

1 bedroom with double bed 140cm x 190cm

1 shower room with wash hand basin and wc.

A cot is also available

SITUATION of this Provence holiday rental

In the village of Rochford-du-Gard, which has apprx 500 inhabitants, there are several points of interest worth noting:-

Le Castelas - towering above the village is the completely renovated Romanesque Chapel from the 10th century.
The Sanctuary of Notre Dame built in 798 under Charlemagne's rule.
The renovated neo-Gothic church of Saint Bardulphe.
The Town Hall was a former chapel.
The wash-house with is Doric colmums was finished in 1807 and totally renovated in 1999.

If a trip to the seaside is a must then the nearest beach would be Saintes Maries de la Mer, in the Camargue, apprx 90km.
