In Provence, South of France this spacious holiday villa with private pool is surrounded by 1900m2 of Mediterranean enclosed garden with mature plants, shrubs and trees - a lovely tranquil spot. The villa's private pool has Roman steps and the terrace is perfect for soaking up the sun and taking in the view over Provence to the old Medieval castle of La Capelle et Masmolène. There is also a covered terrace at the house offering shade from the South of France sunshine during the hot summer days.
The house is a typical Provençal villa on one floor with traditional decor, 3 of the bedrooms are in the villa and there is a separate annex with a double bedroom and bathroom.
The village of La Capelle et Masmolène is situated not far from the border of the Languedoc-Roussillon region and Provence and has a mixture of both regional cultures.
The holiday villa is only 12 km from the pretty town of Uzes, and close to the Pont du Gard, Avignon, Orange and Arles. The Mediterranean beaches are only an hour away too, so this holiday villa really is in the perfect spot to explore Provence, the South of France and all its history.
The Provence Lavender fields are in full bloom from the end of June and can sometimes last into August thus making July the best time to visit.

This Provençal style villa (220m2), has a spacious living/dining area with fireplace and TV.
The kitchen has a dining area too and is well equipped with hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, cafetière and dish washer.

Situation of this Provence family holiday villa
La Capellle et Masmoléne, with only 800m between them, combined in 1814 - nestled on the southern slopes of a wooded hillside, separated only by a cluster of sandstone and quartz rocks, whose colours range from ochre to red,
La Capelle with it's 12th century feudal castle, was until the Revolution, the summer residence of the Bishops of Uzes. Masmolène and its Tower, the last vestige of Lord Adélard, has an 11th century Roman chapel which is being restored by volunteers. The Castle and the village are listed as one of the most picturesque in France.
The lake - Etang de La Capelle - 42 hectares, with its horses and young bulls is a refuge for numerous species of birds and rare amphibians.

The village of La Capelle et Masmolène is apprx 300m (no commerces, however baker comes daily in his car)

Rochefort-du-Gard has few shops and there is also a local market every Sunday.
For those of you who are into Antiques there are many Brocantes for you to browse in - open daily.
The Garrigue countryside is only 500m away and will entice the walkers amongst you.
The local river at Pont-du-Gard is apprx 8km. Try and get to see the spectacular Son et Lumiere show in the Summer.
If a trip to the seaside is a must then the nearest beach would be Saintes Maries de la Mer, in the Camargue about an hour away.
