In Provence, Villa Chrysantha is a contemporary and modern holiday rental. Located on a quiet hillside with breathtaking views of the old typical Provencal village Rochefort du Gard with its XI Century Chapel, the Alpilles, the Luberon and Mont Ventoux. Just 500 metres from the local village.
With 5 double bedrooms, sleeping up to 10 people and a baby, this holiday villa is an ideal base a large family, or even 2 families wanting to explore the Provence area of the South of France. The 8m x 4m swimming pool has a security cover, and the large Mediterranean garden of 2000m2 provides plenty of space for children to play and enjoy themselves.
The provence holiday villa is set over two floors built and decorated in a contemporary style throughout, with an American open plan kitchen. There is a covered, decked terrace which wraps around the house offering shade where you can relax with an aperitif and take in the magnificent views.
Rochefort-du-Gard is situated on the border of the Languedoc-Roussillon region and Provence and has a mixture of both regional cultures. A real plus is that the villa is walking distance to the village where you will find a baker, a small shop and a cafe. There is also a local market on Sunday morning.
The holiday villa is only 12 kms to Avignon, Provence and close to Orange and Arles a great location to explore this part of the world and all its history.
This villa has a sister property next door VU026A Villa Anise - ideal for two families holidaying together.

The decor throughout Villa Chrysantha is simple, clean and contemporary. It is a new building with a concrete roof designed to stay cool.
A large, bright and airy open-plan living/dining room has a feature fireplace and modern furnishings are positioned to make the most of the panoramic view. Floor to ceiling French windows epitomise the concept of indoor/outdoor living and give access to the wrap around terrace and the steps leading down to the pool area.
A dining table for 8 is at the far end of the living area and leads in to the fully equipped American style kitchen, with breakfast bar and floor to ceiling French doors leading onto the terrace.

A House Book in the property has lots of information on local cultural and tourist activities, local markets, cycle routes, restaurants and wine tastings.
Provence vacation rental with pool and garden
A very large, decked, wrap around terrace which affords some shade in the daytime and is well-lit in the evening. Also a poolside sunny terrace with a stunning view.
The 8m x 4m x 1.25m-1.5m swimming pool has Roman steps leading into it from the terrace end and a security cover. It is set in a large mature garden of 2200m2 with Mediterranean planting and a lawned area.

This Provence holiday villa is a great base for exploring Provence and nearby Languedoc-Occitanie
In the village of Rochford-du-Gard, which has approx 500 inhabitants, there are several points of interest worth noting:-
Le Castelas - towering above the village is the completely renovated Romanesque Chapel from the 10th century.
The Sanctuary of Notre Dame built in 798 under Charlemagne's rule.
The renovated neo-Gothic church of Saint Bardulphe.
The Town Hall was a former chapel.
The wash-house with is Doric colmums was finished in 1807 and totally renovated in 1999.

- 12 km from Avignon (Festival Theatre, cruises on the Rhone)
- 15 km from a river (Le Pont du Gard)

A local state park is approx 500m and the Garrigue countryside approx 250m will entice the walkers amongst you.
The local river is approx 10km at Pont du Gard. Don't miss the Son et Lumiere show it is a great spectacle.
If a trip to the seaside is a must then the nearest beach would be Saintes Maries de la Mer, in the Camargue, approx 90km.
Just to let you know that we had a great holiday in this wonderful villa. For us it was just perfection - a stunning light filled contemporary villa with incredible views from every room (and the pool!) to the delightful village of Rochefort du Gard in the near distance. The photos don't do this place justice. It far more more impressive in reality and anyone that enjoys and appreciates the combination of modern and old are sure to have a good time here.
