Central Beziers, South of France

L’Octopus

The Proud owner of a Michelin star. Situated in the centre of Beziers, South of France near to Galleries Lafayette. This young team have quickly built a good reputation, the food is modern and one could say at times quirky! A Lunchtime menu offering starter and main course or if you have a sweet tooth, main course and then dessert is excellent value at 25 Euro and they even offer you a free glass of wine and a coffee! For an evening dining experience try the 6 course taster menu and the Chef will surprise you, don’t worry if there is anything you don’t like then just them know. The Octopus

L’Orangerie

Brasserie style, a warm and lively atmosphere, the baked camembert is delicious and the homemade chips are wonderful, the wine list has a great choice of South of France wines. During the summer months it is open all day for ice creams, cakes or purely a drink, so a great place to take a break whilst sightseeing in Beziers on your French family holiday.

La Charniere

The best burgers in town! Johnny an English rugby player came to France to play for Beziers, fell in love, not just with his now wife but also with the South of France, so he decided to stay and opened this bistro with a fellow French rugby player. There are lots of British influences, fresh fish and chips, excellent burgers alongside the French classic steak frites. Great for a family lunch and the place to be to watch any rugby matches, especially the local South of France teams.

Le Petit Montmart

A quaint little restaurant on the Place de la Madeleine, next to the wonderful 15th Century church. A creative and different menu along with traditional South of France delights. Try the butcher’s choice, you are guaranteed an excellent meat dish.

Bistro B

On the outskirts of Beziers so a car is necessary, don’t be put off that it is next to the small shopping centre. This restaurant is the place to be between 12 and 2, the local French eat here so expect a mass exodus around 13.50 when they all go back to the office! Excellent 3 course set menu or there a great choice on the a la carte. There is a small courtyard at the rear for outside dining.

Le Delphinium

Opposite the Casino in Valras Plage, this excellent French Restaurant run by a husband and wife team is a hidden gem. Fresh local foods occasionally with an Asian twist, Children are welcome and they can have a child’s portion rather than having Nuggets and Chips. The cheese trolley is a must, an extensive collection of South of France Cheeses to enjoy with a glass of Languedoc wine.

Hostellerie du Chateau

Ignore the word hostellerie! This beautiful and elegant restaurant in Lespignan is in what was originally the Chateau’s stable. A real fine dining experience, in the summer months the terrace and gardens are transformed into the dining area. A must visit for a special meal whilst on holiday in the South of France. Restaurant Cote Canal

Hidden away along the Canal du Midi not far from Colombiers. Serving beautiful Mediterranean food with a Southern France twist. Lunch from only 13.50 Euros and there is a wonderful terrace with plenty of shade. O Bontemps

Magalas, Haute Cuisine restaurant. O Bontemps is hidden away in this typical Languedoc wine making village near the charming church. The Chef Olivier Bontemps was classically trained by the famous South of France “Pourcel brothers”. The tasting menu offers a surprise for each course, Olivier or his wife will ask you if there is anything that you don’t like so do not worry if you have an allergy. Montady, a real South of France restaurant, amazing views from the terrace friendly service, great food! Their Soup de Poisson is truly delicious, as is the fresh calamari and chorizo. The set menu offers excellent value for money, and the wine list is very reasonable. Restaurant de la Tour
