The best beaches in the Languedoc
La Corniche
Situated in Sete, South of France. The North side of this beach has a large free parking area. There are great restaurants, night clubs and cafes along with private beaches with comfortable sunbeds to rent, so it is the perfect spot for everyone. The South side of La Corniche is thinner and has a wilder more natural feeling as there are no buildings close by. Rochelongue
Situated in Cap d’Agde, this lovely South of France beach with fine sand
and turquoise sea is a great spot for a family day at the beach – approximately
3km from the centre of Cap d’Agde making it easy to get there if you are
renting one of our French holiday homes on the beach. It is one of the most beautiful
and popular beaches in Cap d’Agde so make sure you get there early in the morning to get a parking place,
and then walk along to find a quiet spot! Check out our

Vias
In between Cap d’Agde and Valras Plage, the main beach in Vias is a sheltered
beach with a line of grassy sand dunes. Vias is quite a touristy part of South of France.
On entering Vias turn left for Plage du Clot, this hidden away beach is popular with the
locals and holidaymakers, an added bonus is that you can rent comfortable sun loungers,
and eat a delicious lunch in the restaurant. The water is shallow allowing you to walk
right out into the sea, making it the perfect location for families with small children.
Vias is easily accessible and is approximately a 15 minute drive away from Béziers

Portiragnes Plage
Only 15 minutes from Beziers, the main Portiragnes beach is very family orientated. It is the perfect choice if you want to spend your South of France holiday on a beach that is not too busy. There are few bars and restaurants but they are separated from the beach by a car park. At Portiragnes Ouest beach you can rent a small sailing dingy or pedalo and La piece de resistance of this beach is Les Voiles Restaurant and private beach, offering sun-loungers, an amazing restaurant and musical soirees in the summer months. Sérignan
The 3.2km Sérignan beach is the perfect spot for everyone – it offers plenty of space to spread out. The sand dunes at the back protect the beach and give it a wild and remote feeling. There are few restaurants and beach bars behind the sand bank – enjoy a drink or two after a day at the beach! Please note that there is a naturist section at the far left of Sérignan. Add a link
Valras
Valras is a good option if you’re looking for a beach that is a bit livelier, especially if you are on holiday with teenagers. It has many shops, bars and restaurants where you can enjoy lunch or grab a coffee, there is even a Casino with a nice restaurant. Valras plage is one of the big town beaches and not as calm as Sérignan and Portiragnes however it is open all year round, and there is plenty to do should you not wish to lie on the beach or by the pool all day!. Port Leucate
Situated South of Narbonne, Port Leucate is a very popular beach amongst the wind and kite surfers and is just one of the eight beaches in the Leucate area. The beach is separated by a promenade where you can roller blade, cycle, walk or jog. Perfect for families as there are nice bars, restaurants and cafes as well as plenty of parking spaces. Argèles North
A huge beach with wonderful views of the Pyrenees. This beach is often described as one of the best in France and as it is so big there is plenty of space for everyone. Holiday homes and campsites are situated right next to the beach but they are separated by trees and flowers. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants where you can enjoy lunch or just drinks. Should you be feeling adventurous or have had enough of sun bathing, try one of the sea-related activities! Inland lake and river beaches in the South of France.
Lake Salagou
If you want to explore a different type of a beach, try Lake Salagou, Languedoc’s best-known lake. Rent a sailing boat, try your hand at kite-surfing, walk along the 28km perimeter or just relax. The lake is clean but the water can appear dark because of the nature of the local earth. There are lots of trees around the lake providing shade so you can spend the whole day there, a great spot for a picnic. There are restaurants nearby should you prefer.
Roquebrun
One of the most beautiful villages in France, the river Orb in Roquebrun has clean and clear water. Flip flops or beach shoes are necessary as the beach and the river bed are a little stony. Roquebrun is a popular place for canoeing and you can rent canoes locally either for a few hours or for a couple of days. The village is small but stunning and it has a couple of very nice restaurants where you can enjoy the view over the river.
