Accommodation Details

17th Century Provence Holiday Villa near Gordes - sleeping 15

This 17th century Provençal Domaine in a small hamlet was built in 1650, just 7-8 minutes drive from the historic town of Gordes providing peace and tranquillity in a most beautiful setting.

The owners have paid much attention to preserving as many original features as they could; beams, stone walls, the stone fireplace, but have made sure that there was no 'economising' on modern comforts, so there is a good bedroom to bathroom ratio.

Ground Floor

A large kitchen, fully equipped and modern in feel, has a big table. There is a pantry next door. 2 living rooms, decorated with taste and preserving the old charm of stone walls, a stone fireplace, and exposed beams. Downstairs wc and wash hand basin.

There are 7 bedrooms in all - 5 doubles each with 160cm x 200cm beds (3 of which have ensuite shower rooms) and 2 twin/triple rooms.

First Floor

2 bedrooms with double beds and ensuite shower rooms, wash hand basin and wc

and

2 bedrooms with double beds that share one shower room (located in the stairwell) that has wash hand basin and wc.

Second Floor

Outside Details

Large Provencal Holiday Villa with fabulous heated, infinity pool.

The 'piece de resistance' is the huge kidney-shaped infinity swimming pool, 12m x 6m wide at its longest points, with a 'Californian beach' - a shallow beach where young children can play safely in the water. The pool can be heated from May to September (supplementary cost in April and October only)

The pool is surrounded by a lovely and unusual stone amphitheatre, with an attractive fountain and an outside bar. These features really come into their own when the pool and the surrounding area are lit up at night. Pool has an alarm but is not fenced in.

There is a pool house, an outside 'bar' and an outside shower next to the pool. The large garden has 2 different areas for sitting and relaxing, for either dining alfresco in the shade, or for sun lovers to benefit from the loungers in the sun.

The back of the garden is walled, and so is the front courtyard which is partially walled - only the driveway and the parking area are not enclosed. There is a BBQ, plenty of sun loungers, garden furniture and a good area for private parking.

Client Comments

Had a great stay with a mixed friend group of 7 adults and 6 kids. The property has a lot of character and is well appointed, with everything you need to hand. Pool and other outdoor areas especially good for socialising. Only downsides were the bedrooms were very warm (in August) with no a/c and the roads leading to the property were very narrow if you had a large car. Beautiful location, a 10min drive or 45min walk from Gordes. August 2024  Please note there are fans in the bedrooms and it is impossible to add Ac to this property. Kepp shutters closed in the sunshine.
It was a wonderful location and a great wedding day. We couldn't have asked for more. It was so nice dealing with you for all the arrangements and I certainly plan to get in touch again for our next visit. All the best. Melanie Love, June.Since this comment was posted, please note, this property no longer hosts weddings.
