An elegant villa close to St Christophe, near Grasse on the Cote d'Azur to sleep 6 adults, with amazing views, a large pool and 5000m2 garden.

The villa has a fascinating history - it was built in 1927 by the Comte (Duke) of Valence for his mistress with whom he was very much in love, but could not marry because of her lower status. All the wood used in the villa is from his castle forest in Valence. In 1942 they had to move out for two years as the villa was overtaken by the Germans until France was liberated again. It was chosen for its unique location where they were able to control the coastline and air-space of the Cote d'Azur.

This Provencal villa with its magnificent views is a great location for that relaxing holiday and to explore all this part of the South of France has to offer.

Savour the charm of this sophisticated Mas Provençal with its magnificent facade and incredible views of the Cote d'Azur all the way from Nice to the Esterel mountains.

This villa is set over two levels, in the area of Saint Christophe on a small quite closed road with direct access to the beautiful forest of Route Napoleon.

Decorated with style and luxury the spacious, light and airy living room has French doors leading out to the terrace.  There are three comfortable sofas, occasional tables and footstools.  A wall with a modern fireplace breaks up the space between the living area and the kitchen/dining area.

The open plan kitchen and dining room has fabulous doors leading directly to the front terrace - from where the view is incredible - and to the side terrace where there is a dining table for your alfresco meals.

The kitchen is contemporary with modern appliances and the inside dining table seats up to 10.

Independent cloakroom on this level.

To complete the picture there are 3 spacious suite size bedrooms, each with a king size bed and en suite bathroom, plus balconies with wonderful views.

The Master Bedroom en suite has a freestanding bath, walk-in shower, double wash hand basins and wc.

There is a fourth bedroom (office that can be converted)  for an extra charge suitable for 2 children.

In the extensive garden (5000m2), you will find distinctive Provence plants, such as olive, lemon and orange trees, cypress, rosemary and lavender. Old big palm trees are delightfully located in the pool area to provide much needed shade in the summer!

There are several terraces to choose from with incredible views.

The large luxury opal pool 10m x 8m x 0.70-2.5m is situated on the edge of the garden in the most beautiful surroundings and has full sun all day. It has a big "plage californie" shallow area (0.70 cm) and an alarm. There is a poolside deck and a pool house should you want respite from the South of France sunshine.

The pool is heated from June to September (included).

There is a pool house with shower.

Walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shopping and Grasse's Perfume Houses why not take a free tour and buy perfumes and soaps or go for lunch at the Michelin starred Restaurant Bastide Saint Antoine (apprx 200 Euro per head).

Valbonne approx 13km you will find numerous banks, travel agents, shops, wine merchants, cafes on the square, many restaurants, a British style "pub" open in the evenings, and a wonderful Friday market.

Cannes approx 22km - beach with activities such as Waterskiing, Diving and Sailing.

The picturesque village of Mougins is approximately 16km. It was made famous as the last home of Picasso until his death in 1973.

St Paul de Vence, approx 28km drive, is a castellated village, famous for it's artist studios and Renoir the Impressionist painter spent many years painting there.

Antibes approx 31km and has the "Marineland" complex and "Aquapark" with water slides - ideal for families. The old town of Antibes is a lovely place to visit with it's charming shops and good choice of restaurants.

Nice approx 37km - Le Vieux Nice and the market, the Promenade des Anglais, a pebbly beach, restaurants, bars and cafes galore!

Monaco approx 54km (1 hour drive).
