After 2 years of hard endeavour by the Interior Designer Owner this 18th Century derelict building that started life as a shed with various additions over the years, has been lovingly restored into a magnificent home. It combines the best of the traditional with modern day comfort and incorporates the Owners interests in art, architecture and the envrionment.
With 5 bedrooms - 3 in the main house (air-conditioned) and a further 2 in the Guest Suite, 5 bathrooms, a well designed living space, large pool and 1 hectare of garden, this fabulous property offers everything you need for your holiday in the South of France.
Situated close to Vaisaon-la-Romaine the location is great for exploring all that Provence and the surrounding area has to offer, such as Orange, Avignon and the inimitable Mont Ventoux.

The owner also runs 'Initiation to Indigo Dye and Pattern Creation' classes for anyone staying at the property, where you can explore shibori pattern making on a scarf or t-shirt, to wear proudly on completion. Classes do have to be booked well in advance, so please contact us for details at the time of booking the property should this be of interest.
South of France Provencal 'Mas' farmhouse sleeping 10
Renvoated with style and flair, the well planned and designed light and airy interior lends itself to family groups with open plan space for children and toddlers, as well as the adults, to enjoy.
The Owner has sourced a mix of furniture from modern pieces to street market discoveries as well as vintage items from her own store in Chile. The easy on the eye natural colour scheme blend with high quality materials, including hard woods and stone, to create a peaceful, laid back atmosphere.
A triple height, triple length room, that once housed the tractors and wine vats, is now the living-dining space with lots of seating areas and a bespoke dining table for 10 made of Douglas Fir from the Owners workshop in Chile.
The kitchen is a large, fully equipped eat in kitchen on the ground floor of the main house with access to dining room, patio and terrace. The kitchen table is also a bespoke piece of furniture made from Eucalyptus fabricated in the Owners workshop in Chile.

The Guest Suite (independent from the Main House) has 2 further bedrooms that are interconnected with double doors for privacy:
Bedroom 4 - twin beds (2 x 90cm) with en suite bathroom and period bath and separate wc. There is a portable fan.
Bedroom 5 - queen size bed (160cm) with en suite shower room and walk in Italian rain shower and wc. There is a ceiling fan.

One hectare of garden at this South of France Vacation Rental
The outside of this property has been a labour of love and is ongoing - year on year new spaces are developed enhancing the tranquil Zen like ambience. Take your pick from a plethora of nooks and niches - read your book, have a siesta, take in the views or just be alone and listen to the birdsong.
There is lawn, mature trees, shrubs, a mineral garden with aromatic planting and native woods - a kitchen garden is next on the agenda!
The pool is 13m x 6m x 1-3m deep and secured by an electric cover with a large deck area with sun loungers where you can top up your tan. Accessories for the pool, including pool balls and floats are available should you want to be more energetic. Natural shade comes from Oaks and the Provence Micocoulier trees.
Located in the pool house is the Summer Kitchen with ice machine, dishwasher, fridge and poolside accoutrements. There is also an independent wc in the pool house.
Your choice of outdoor spaces is extensive - convene together or have some personal time:
A dining area in the front patio, with table for 10 under the Acacia tree with 2 day beds and views to Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The terrace near the kitchen with a pergola shaded dining table for 12, built-in charcoal BBQ and garden views. At night the table is romantically lit by a chandelier.
A cafe style seating area and another lounging space, both for 10 with expansive views over Medieval Vaison and the top of the Roman theatre.
On the terrace below the pool the ping pong table is shaded by a wisteria covered pergola.
The secluded Garden Shed offers views over the garden and lavender field, a built in sofa on 3 sides, occasional table and a selection of reading material.
For the children a home made fabric Tepee can be set up with mini furniture - the perfect play house (advance notice required).
A Boules piste can be found near the pool.
The Owners are very conscious of the environment and do not allow pesticides in the garden or the house and provide Citronella essential oils for guests. This in turn encourages local wildlife such as squirrels and birds to visit the grounds.
There is also a composter in the parking area for kitchen waste.

Vaison-la-Romaine - only a 3 minute drive - is a thriving, all year round, market town with high quality shops. It boasts extensive Roman archaeological grounds and is famous for its Papal connections when the Court stayed in Avignon in the 14th Century.
Orange - approx 29km - Roman amphitheatre, festival of Opera, festival of Lavender
Isle-sur-la-Sorgue - approx 46km - a beautiful town of mills and waterways, famous for its antique shops (some 350 of them!!) and many restaurants.
Avignon - approx 57km (Palais des Papes)
Uzes - apprx 79km - lovely town square with bars and restaurants
Nimes - approx 83km - Roman Amphitheatre
Aigues Mortes - approx 123km - walk the fortified walls and enjoy the main square and huge choice of restaurants
