We had a great stay at the villa, the owner and her family welcomed us and explained everything we needed to know. The house and surroundings are as shown on the website and all was perfectly functional and well designed. it is an easy to use and enjoy place. The terrace is great and we used it a lot. The swimming pool is of perfect size for children and safe. Vence is a very pleasant city close to all the the places we wanted to visit. The house is ideally located close to Vence but in a quiet neighborhood. To summarize, great location, palce and hosts. I defiinitely recommend! October 2018

A great break in a lovely villa. Great property with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of space to spread out, inside and outside. Special thanks to Jess for her helping out with printing out our problem boarding pass!
The holiday was lovely thank you, and the rose wine that was left was really excellent, one of our favourites of the trip. Overall we were all very pleased with the house; it very charming in that it felt like a family’s villa rather than a purpose built holiday rental. The children’s play room with the air conditioning proved invaluable for us and we were delighted that we had that space to retire to with them. We enjoyed the variety of outdoor spaces to sit in depending on the time of day and we also felt the quality and size of the furnishings in the living room was excellent when compared to similar sized properties for rent in Provence. Another highlight of the holiday was the swimming pool which was well maintained, clean and a lovely temperature; with the added bonus of the toddlers pool.
The view over the vineyard visible from the top floor was particularly lovely but there was no particular location outside from which to enjoy the view. I don’t know whether you would consider removing or pruning down some of the plants around the edge to allow better views? Although I appreciate that the surrounding hedge does offer a nice sense of privacy when outside.
Finally I wonder whether the pool towels could do with updating, just in the context of such a well finished property these were a little past their best. (The owner has now replaced the towels).

This villa is the very best we have stayed at, so much so that this is our third visit, and each time the villa just gets better. A party of six adults yet still so much space, extremely well equipped, large clean pool, stunning views and magical with the lights for night swimming, and so many terraces to choose from. Situated in the best spot of Autignac overlooking vineyards, watching the sunset on the balcony with the Pyrenees in the distance - what's not to love. The area is so perfect for such a variety of day trips, this year we explored Sete just an hours drive away and the old streets of Pezanas which have a similar feel to Carcassonne Castle, a morning river swimming and canoeing at Roquebrun and still so much more to explore. We love it here and this villa spoils us, we will be back!
I thought I’d send some feedback about our holiday this year. We had an absolute ball at Chateau St Marthe in Roujan. Our four families have some comments that they wanted me to pass on to you and the owner.
First of all, thanks for your attention to detail and all you did to make the holiday a success. I’ve travelled extensively and I was very impressed by the team at South France Villas.
The house itself was fabulous. We loved it but would like to raise a couple of points.
The main issue we had was with the kitchen. While it was a great size, it was badly let down by the inadequate fridge/freezer arrangement. We were a party of 15 in the height of summer and it was a constant battle to keep food and drinks cold. We all love our food and wine/beer, and frankly the old fridges were just terrible!
The DVD player was broken.
We were told the pool would be cleaned/looked at during the course of our week-long stay but this didn’t happen. We really didn’t mind - but others might.
Lastly, the cook we hired - Debbi Reid from Roujan - was absolutely brilliant. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending her to future guests. She enhanced our stay hugely.
We all enjoyed our time at the house very much, and would certainly return given the chance in the future. I hope you do not mind our comments but instead take them in the spirit intended: to enhance other people’s holidays at a wonderful, character-filled villa in a beautiful area of France. Just like to say thank you for a wonderful stay at Villa Bastide Maia. A fabulous property, immaculately presented throughout and well equipped. After meeting the owner on arrival, we were given a guided tour of the accommodation and all that it has to offer. Having separate buildings, each with its own private facilities added to the comfort we experienced during our stay. The welcome pack of cheese, wine and bread was excellent, as were the breakfast pastries. A big thank you to the owner. We had a lovely time at your house, we really like Pezenas and the surrounding area. The house itself was superb and very well equipped, we and our 18, 20 and 21 year old children were very happy. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION – this wonderful house has the best of them all. We will always remember the many dinners and drinks overlooking the beach and ocean watching the spectacular sunsets. The beautiful garden where we sat talking, eating and listening to music many a night. The owners couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly, always available to answer any questions we had and keeping up with us when we had some health issues. The house is beautifully and tastefully decorated with everything you might need. We were very sorry to have to leave again - and yes, some tears were shed - as we could have stayed forever! We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Villa Horizon in St Maxime. The villa was exactly as described , very much a home from home and the local staff were excellent at settling us in and dealing with any questions/issues we had. The local beach (2mins walk) was excellent and I thoroughly recommend a day in St Tropez, the ferry trip was fab and we had a lovely time there with a great lunch and a visit to the art gallery which is great.. the Prao Beach Club was great so highly recommended. Your property is just superb, we are very jealous, it was most enjoyable to sit out in the evening when the kids were asleep. All in a great vacation and I would certainly consider returning.
